Matthew Leyland - Sound of Faith Broadcasting Inc

I started as a co-op student. Upon finishing my co-op I was immediately hired.

I was an assistant traffic coordinator until I entered college. Responsible for editing and maintaining daily traffic and music logs, downloading shows and putting them into the system and timing them out. I was also in charge of finalizing and charging invoices via Natural Logs.

I recorded and produced The Beautiful Ones with Sandy MacKay and Maximized Living with Dr. BJ Hardick. I did Facebook Lives for share-a-thons creating graphics, manning cameras and engaging with the audience in the comments.

In December 2018 I was given the opportunity to host a mid-morning show during Christmas break which went well and was memorable with listeners.

When I was at Fanshawe I continued production work on The Beautiful Ones with Sandy MacKay, Maximized Living with Dr. BJ Hardick, Perspectives with Barry Shainbaum and Conversations with Marion.

After graduating from Fanshawe in June 2021 I assumed more responsibility in production and became the interim morning show host for London in August responsible for engaging with listeners through social media, researching and writing my show.

Since leaving the morning show in October 2021, I have continued producing commercials and other long-form on-air and online content. I also have the additional responsibility of being a copywriter for Sound of Faith Broadcasting Inc and am responsible for the majority of the commercials heard on our stations across South-Western Ontario.

Additionally throughout my time at Sound of Faith Broadcasting I have attended numerous events such as Rib Fest and Juno Fest in a promotional role for the station.
